Yes we are all getting older and reflection is a important. My good lady is 55 years of age too – seven months older than me in fact. But she looks amazing. A lot of the reason has to do with the fact she works out at least two hours a day, and on Sundays, when she “takes a break”, she thinks nothing of a 5 mile walk. Before we had our kids she did the Canadian Ironman which gives you an idea of the sort of machine she is, but in addition to that amazing feat she has maintained a healthy diet for at least 40 years and although she enjoys drinking she could never get close to breaking the Manor record.
Swim 2.4 Miles. Bike 112 miles. Run 26.2. Brag for the rest of your life.” – John Collins, IRONMAN co-founder
But what I reflect upon is how The Consul, Kentucky, and myself are still going even though we have abused the fuck out of our bodies for over 35 years. I remember clearly when I reconnected with Kentucky about ten years ago, we went to Leeds and were checking out our old haunts including my old hair dresser, Paul. Paul’s first comment when he saw me was:
I thought you’d be dead by now.
And how right he was. I thought so too. Of course none of us have dated Rachel either.
