No I’m not talking about The Consul – he is still my Hero, no matter what his colleagues say about him. I’m talking about the once Perfect Pint of Ruddles County. When Kentucky and I used to drink to excess I loved Ruddles County. I had a pint on my recent trip and was very disappointed; it has lost it’s magic. Naturally, I blamed it on Kentucky’s Chili and my fading taste buds. But it turns out that Ruddles County is no longer brewed by the Ruddles Brewery – they sadly were sold in 1999. The brewers of Ruddles County is now Greene King. Well I enjoy a pint of Greene King IPA and Old Speckled Hen, but let’s face it they are not Ruddles County. I have fond memories of that Proper Country Ale and it will surely be missed.
