My beautiful daughter owns two horses: Buddy + Bandit. Both horses were given to her and therein lies the rub. Everything to do with horses is expensive, and just because you get one for free doesn’t mean things will be cheap. At the low-end you’re talking about $500 a month for room & board and very basic maintenance. But heaven forbid you have a horse that has a few issues. Then things get out of control.
Buddy is her “problem child” and last year it was touch and go and we were paying $1200 a day as the vet worked on him. 1200 smackers a day. So please when you think your vet bills are high for your dog, cat, fish or other child please remember: “At least it’s not a horse!”
