One of the finest ways to drink your beer is whilst listening to great music. This is even more true if the music is live. The problem is that seldom do music venues serve good beer. To get around this, we use to think that it was wise to drink some decent beer in a favoured pub before arriving at a gig. As the beer flowed it became increasingly difficult to leave and go and see the band. We often toyed with the idea of selling our tickets so that we could carry on drinking wherever we were. On a particularly notable occassion, having had one last pint and then another, we arrived to see the Birthday Party so late that we only had time for one quick gob at Nick Cave before he finished the final encore and left the stage for good.
