I know The Consul has been working like a dog since I got back and nothing has changed here, but it is hard to forget the wonderful two weeks spent in England just a couple of weeks ago. We drank lots of beer and ate some great British food: bacon and eggs, sausage sandwiches, fish and chips, sausage rolls, pasties. Not a lot of health but plenty of comfort. The Consul was convinced I would not put on any weight with all the walking we did, but I still put on 5lbs. But they were worth it. Some of the great draught beers I enjoyed (that I can remember) on this trip were:
- Landlord – Timothy Taylor
- Butcombe Bitter – Butcombe
- Doombar – Sharp’s
- Pedigree – Marston’s
- Gold – Thatchers
- Stowford Press – Westons Cider
As well as the food and copious amounts of beer, we cured cancer and saw lots of Sarah too.
