So much to the dismay of both Kentucky and The Consul I continue to have a real fondness for cider. One of the biggest problems in the USA is that cider is quite different than in England. But every time I find a new cider I try it out. About six months I discovered a local Austin brewery Austin East Ciders and I am very partial to their “Original Dry Cider”. It is a bit weaker (at 4.8%) than the ciders I’m used to from the Olde Country, but it is not so sweet as a lot of American brands and goes down really smooth. I probably drink this at least half the time these days (and right now in fact) and love the clean crisp taste. And of course I love their slogan:
How do you like them apples?
