Why is life worth living?

Now, searching for fine wines and beers took me to Frenchie country recently and I was struck by the large number of Trappist beers in Lille. This is of course a Belgian tradition, which testifies to the supreme pleasure of beer in monastic orders. While there I also re-watched Manhattan, and was reminded of the scene in which Woody Allen recalls the best things in life but somehow omits the perfect pint: ‘Why is life worth living? It’s a very good question. Um… Well, There are certain things I guess that make it worthwhile. uh… Like what… okay… um… For me, uh… ooh… I would say… what, Groucho Marx, to name one thing… uh… um… and Wilie Mays… and um… the 2nd movement of the Jupiter Symphony… and um… Louis Armstrong, recording of Potato Head Blues… um… Swedish movies, naturally… Sentimental Education by Flaubert… uh… Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra… um… those incredible Apples and Pears by Cezanne… uh… the crabs at Sam Wo’s… uh… Tracy’s face… ‘ But no alcohol! Still it remains a classic film. Max, who gets his name from a different Woody Allen film, prefers to watch Skippy the bush kangaroo. Lovely girl. Nice bush.
